Scented Narcissi this early!
In fact the very first of this seasons crop of Scented Narcissi was picked by Scilly flower farmers as early as September.
But at Churchtown Farm we always have our eye keenly on quality so we don't start sending Scented Narcissi until we are sure the top quality early varieties such as Innisidgen are at their best.
This year the crop is a few weeks early - we think because of the hot spell we had in June so now we are happy with the quality we have started sending Scented Narcissi.
All of the Scented Narcissi on Scilly are grown outdoors all through the winter. We are able to start the season so early because of our small sheltered fields, mild climate, narcissi varieties that have been bred to flourish on Scilly and a good amount of local knowledge.
