03/08/2009 - Scilly First Class Post Beats BBC Top Gear
Top Gear Race the Scilly Mail
Fans of the BBC's Top Gear may well have seen the recent race between the Top Gear Team in a Porsche and the first class post from Scilly to Orkney. We did think about contacting the programme when we first heard they were coming to see if they wanted to race a box of our flowers but I have to confess nerves got the better of us and we weren't 100% confident that the Royal Mail would win but it turns out we should have more faith. The 1st Class Post beat the Porsche driven by James May and Richard Hammond, the letter posted on Scilly arrived the next day on Orkney just before the Porsche.
