Things are really hotting up at Churchtown Farm as we get ready to send all your gift boxes of Christmas Scented Narcissi. This is our busiest time of year and the planning starts well over a year before. Ian our field manager has to plan which varieties of narcissi to grow, which fields to use and how the bulbs are going to be treated to ensure the flower crop is at its optimum for the short, busy Christmas period - get it wrong and we have a glut of flowers on Boxing Day!
In the packing shed Will is generating copious lists so that he has everything for the big pack, boxes, tissue paper, flower food, sellotape etc......and biscuits.
Behind the scenes Jackie is phoning round organising extra help so we have enough people to pack flowers. A big thank you to all those who come and help us each year when we are really busy.
In the office Becky has rejigged all the rotas to make sure the all the phones are covered as we go into the last few busy weeks before Christmas.
